On Monday and Tuesday, we will have newly hatched chicks in the lobby for the children to see, make sure you come and meet them.

We will be holding a Platinum Jubilee Party for all the children on Wednesday 8th June, please dress your child in red, white and blue. Please come to your normal session, a packed lunch is still required for children staying all day. If you do not normally attend on a Wednesday, please book a morning or an afternoon session with Helen. (More information can be found on the letter that went out last week)

Normal preschool will be closed on Monday 13th June as we will be holding a Progress Day where you will have a progress meeting with your child’s keyperson, if your child is moving on to school or nursery you will have a Transition Meeting. Here you can discuss any worries or concerns you have about your child moving onto school. Michele will then be attending the London Borough of Sutton School Transfer Day on Friday 17th June where we pass over these Transition Forms and any relevant information to the schools and nurseries. At preschool we talk with all the children about where children are moving on to, we make books showing all the schools our children move to and discuss things such as new teachers, uniforms and book bags, so they can start processing the changes. Remember how important it is to continue this alongside developing their self-help skills and independence to help them settle into their new schools. This is also important for the children staying with us as it introduces the cycle of moving on and changes for them too, as some of their friends move on to school and new younger children join us at preschool.

The photographer is in preschool on Thursday 23rd June, more info to follow.

Our caterpillars will be arriving soon we will observe them growing and changing into butterflies, they will also be in the lobby for you to see.

Over the next few weeks, we will continue to explore the outdoor environment during the summer months. Feeding the birds, tending to our plants in our flowerbeds as they grow. Observing the changes as spring turns to summer bringing to our environment blooming trees with leaves, different birds and minibeasts, changing temperatures and learning how we keep safe in the sun. Please apply sun cream to your child and provide a named sunhat as the weather gets warmer.
