Week 5, 1st Half Spring Term @ Lavender, Beddington
3rd – 7th Feb. 2025
We explored Lunar New Year this week, The Year of the Snake with stories, songs and art activities. The highlight for the children were the noodles, trying to use chopsticks or a fork to pick them up…some resorted to fingers!
Please don’t forget to check the snack item you have signed up for; this helps to keep our fees down if everyone brings their snack/messy play item in weekly.
Our 2-a-day stories for the week ahead are…
Caterpillar group will be joining in with sound cards and:
Who’s Hiding on the Farm? by Axel Scheffler
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star by Annie Kubler
Butterfly group will be joining in with Jolly phonics rhymes and…
Ten Little Unicorns by Mike Brownlow & Simon Rickerty
Elephant Wellyphant by Nick Sharratt
Next week’s Jolly Phonics letter sounds are “e” and “h”.
The short songs can be found on the internet.

Words for Life
Please remember to put plain water only in your child’s water bottle in case of allergies. Some of the children have realised that there is flavoured water in certain bottles and are helping themselves to those, so we are emptying several every day and refilling with water.
If it is easier, you can bring an empty bottle each day and we will fill it when you arrive.
