Week 2 of 2nd Half Autumn Term @ Beddington
7th – 11th November 2022
Please remember to phone or text in if your child is not going to be at preschool, particularly if they are ill, so that we can inform other families if there is an illness or bug going around. Thank you!
Don’t forget that if your child has an unexplained temperature (e.g; something that has not been confirmed by GP or pharmacist), they will need to stay off for 48 hours.
Please remember to bring your fruit/snack or messy play item in on your first day of the week…we sometimes run out of fruit by the end of the week!
Lavender bear is back! Many of our families won’t remember Lavender Bear, our friendly preschool snuggly friend who likes nothing better than a cuddle and a bedtime story!
We will have a rota system for him/her and each child will have the opportunity to take him/her home.
Lavender Bear helps to promote links with families and home life as well as supporting communication and language skills. It can be as simple and hassle free as just taking the bear home for a night, allowing him to participate in your usual routine and your child bringing him back the next day to talk about their shared time, such as brushing their teeth, what they had for dinner or reading a bedtime story. It’s about recalling and remembering past events, making connections and having the confidence to speak to familiar adults and groups of peers.
If a child cannot yet communicate then the adult coming in with them can give their keyperson a quick run-down so we can talk to them about their experience.
Next week’s Jolly Phonics letter sounds are
“l” and “f”
The short songs can be found on the internet.
2-a-day stories.

Please Remember… to put a change of clothes in your child’s bag in case of accidents! Could you also remember a bag to put the nappy/wet clothes in. Thank you!
While we can, we aim to start the morning off outside if possible and spend much of the session outdoors, your child may need a light rain jacket or coat that they can get dirty and move and play in as the weather can be changeable at this time of year.
