*PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE APPLIED SUNCREAM TO YOUR CHILD BEFORE THEY ARRIVE AT PRESCHOOL AND LEFT US A NAMED BOTTLE OF SUNCREAM IF THEY ATTEND ALL DAY SO WE CAN REAPPLY SOME IN THE AFTERNOON.THEY ALSO NEED A NAMED SUNHAT. *

Sun Safety

We make sure the children are all wearing sun cream, after lunch we reapply sun cream for those children staying all day. The children can only go in the garden if they are wearing a sunhat (even if they will not wear one for you). We make as much shade as possible with canopies and gazebos to add to the shade given by fixed play structures and trees. The children do still play indoors as well as outdoors, they are inside for snack time, story and singing time, lunch time, afternoon snack time, afternoon story and singing time. The children all have a drink at morning snack time, lunch time and afternoon snack time. Extra to this the children have access to their water bottles throughout the session, we encourage them to drink from these and often refill them throughout the day.

The proofs from the photographer will be back this week all details of how to order and when to return them will be inside the pack.

At preschool we continue to talk with all the children about where children are moving on to, we make books showing all the schools our children move to and discuss things such as new teachers, uniforms, and book bags, so they can start processing the changes. Remember how important it is to continue this alongside developing their self-help skills and independence to help them settle into their new schools. This is also important for the children staying with us as it introduces the cycle of moving on and changes for them too, as some of their friends move on to school and new younger children join us at preschool.

Our caterpillars are now I cocoons we will have butterflies soon.

The children have been tasting radishes and potatoes that they grew in the garden

Over the next few weeks, we will continue to explore the outdoor environment during the summer months. Feeding the birds, tending to our plants in our flowerbeds as they grow. Observing summer bringing to our environment blooming trees with leaves, different birds and minibeasts, changing temperatures and learning how we keep safe in the sun. Please apply sun cream to your child and provide a named sunhat as the weather gets warmer.
