The photographer is in Pre-School on Wednesday 17th November if your child is normally in on a Wednesday and you just want your child in the photo you do not need an appointment. You only need an appointment if your child is not normally in on a Wednesday or you would like siblings or family members in the photo also, then sign up for an appointment time.
Our Parent Contact Day is on Tuesday 23rd November please make sure you sign up for an appointment to discuss your child’s progress, we will also be going through statutory 2yr progress checks with parents/carers of our 2 yr olds. It is our duty of care to make sure we discuss these with parents/carers of 2yr old children attending before they turn 3 yrs to make sure they are meeting all their milestones.
On Friday 19th November we will be supporting Children in Need so your child can dress up on that day in anything they are happy to wear, Pudsey merchandise, dressing up costumes, spotty clothes or just their normal clothes…. Whatever they are happy in, we will be collecting donations on the door to raise money for Children in Need.
We have been looking at the changes Autumn is bringing and would still be grateful for collections of beautiful red /yellow/ orange leaves, conkers or pinecones that you find in parks and on days out, please collect some and bring them into preschool. The children create art with them, use them in maths activities counting & weighing, investigate them in Autumn Trays. We have been investigating pumpkins and squashes, looking inside them using all our senses as they look and feel very different inside and outside and using them to progress our fine motor skills by hammering golf tees into them using wooden hammers.
All the children have been settling well and bonding together as a group, the new children are working towards becoming familiar with our routines. All children are working towards developing their independence and self-help skills putting on their coats and changing into wellies.
The children have been working on their construction skills building structures from wooden blocks such as bridges, cars, trains, space ships and building Dens & Shelters in the garden to play under or listen to They are developing critical thinking, creative and imaginative skills, building friendships and learning social skills, extending and progressing vocabulary, communication & language skills, understanding mathematical skills, learning about shape & measure, but mostly HAVING FUN together! So, when you see them at pick up time they maybe grubby or changed into different clothes this is because they have been fully engaged and working hard… Well done children, good learning!

Naming belongings
Please make sure that all your child’s belongings are named this includes all uniform, coats, bags, lunch bags, water bottles, wellies, shoes, and water bottles.
We are struggling to identify children’s belongings, we are spending too much time trying to guess which spare clothes belong to each child in unnamed bags, we asked on your first visit and the induction day that names would be written on the outside of the bag on the back, so it is unseen when worn on a child’s back. If it is inside the bag and especially on a label at the bottom of the bag under the clothes it takes too long to unzip it and search for the name. This means staff are spending too much time searching instead of being with the children.
Names must be on
All Uniform… polo shirt, sweatshirt, cardigans joggers, leggings
Shoes…. as children take off shoes to put wellies on.
Wellies… as there are many pairs of the same design.
Coats.. children do not know their coats when there are maybe 30 coats
Outside of Bags.to quickly identify items & return to children quickly
Outside of Lunch Bags/Boxes...to make sure children get the correct lunch we have several bags/boxes of the same design
Water Bottles… to make sure children get the correct water bottle we have several of the same design.
