Hours:

As from September 2023, Lavender Pre-School is open Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 2.30 with a choice of start times of 8.30 or 9am and a choice of finish times 12 o’clock or 2.30pm except Thursdays which finishes at 12 o’clock only.

Mondays             8.30am or 9am with 12pm or 2.30pm finish

Tuesdays              8.30am or 9am with 12pm or 2.30pm finish

Wednesdays       8.30am or 9am with 12pm or 2.30pm finish

Thursdays            8.30am or 9am with 12pm finish

Fridays                  8.30am or 9am with 12pm or 2.30pm finish

Children staying until 2.30pm bring a packed lunch to eat. Discussions with parents and availability decide the number of sessions a child can attend from 2 to 5 sessions a week. Holidays coincide with the local schools. We are open 38 weeks per year. Term dates can be found on the noticeboard or in the newsletter.

Admissions:

Children are admitted to Lavender Preschool according to the following criteria.

Children must be 2 years old.

Vacancies must exist at the preschool.

Siblings of the children who are already at the preschool or that have previously attended.

Medical, social, or educational needs identified by an appropriate agency.

Length of time name has been on the waiting list.

When to apply for a place and when to leave:

You can apply for a place for your child as soon as they are born.

As a guideline if you apply by the child’s 1st birthday, you will be offered a place.

Children can take up places the term after they turn 2 years old providing there is a space. It is normal for us to have a large intake in September after many children move onto school. Children are able to stay with us until they are 5 years old. Children can attend for a year and then move onto a nursery class in a school, but most children stay at preschool until they start in reception.
