Hours:

The Pre-School is open Monday to Friday from 9.10 to 3.40, with a choice of start time 9.10 or 12.40 and finish time of 12.10 or 3.40

Monday         9.10 until 12.10/3.40 or 12.40 until 3.40

Tuesday        9.10 until 12.10/3.40 or 12.40 until 3.40

Wednesday   9.10 until 12.10/3.40 or 12.40 until 3.40

Thursday       9.10 until 12.10/3.40 or 12.40 until 3.40

Friday            9.10 until 12.10/3.40 or 12.40 until 3.40

Children staying until 3.40 bring a packed lunch. The discretion of the Manager, the availability of places and discussions with parents, decide the number of mornings attended by each child from two to ten sessions per week. We try to arrange holidays to coincide with the local schools. We are open for 38 weeks per year.

Admissions:

Children are admitted to Lavender Pre School according to the following criteria.

• Children must be 2 yrs old.

• Vacancies must exist at the pre school.

• Medical, social or educational needs identified by an appropriate agency.

• Siblings of the children who are already at the pre school or have previously attended.

• Length of time name has been on the waiting list.

When to apply for a place & when to leave:

You can apply for a place for your child as soon as they are born.

As a guideline if you apply by the child’s 1st birthday, you will be offered a place.

Children can take up a place the term after they become 2 yrs old, providing there is a space. It is normal for us to have a large intake in September after many children move onto school. Children are able to stay with us until they are 5 yrs old. A few children attend for a year and then move onto a nursery class, but most stay at pre-school until they start reception class.

Please remember to name any clothing and personal items especially the uniform i.e. coats, trainers, sunhats, lunch boxes and water bottles.
